The Black Dog is a large, shaggy black dog found in the Dog Pound.
The Pound
The staff at the Pound call the dog a "brute", informing the player that it injured its owner. The staff are too afraid to enter its cage.

Rescue
The player can rescue the dog, after which it can be found hanging around the Wolf Cave.
The player must hide in the pound or sneak in after closing time, at which point they can attempt to rescue the Black Dog. This can lead to a Soft Bad End.

The Black Dog is the Black Wolf's half-sibling.
