Bodywriting

Bodywriting is one of several toggles within Degrees of Lewdity. Make sure it is enabled first to experience its content.

Prerequisites

Bodywriting must be enabled in the settings. This toggle differs from some of the others by being a slider and not a checkbox.

The slider has several settings:

1. NPCs may not write on you.
2. NPCs may ask to write on you.
3. NPCs may forcibly write on you.
4. NPCs may forcibly write on and tattoo you.

The first one will disable all content from this toggle. The rest will enable bodywriting, but the last is the most severe, as tattoos are permanent and must be removed at the hospital.

With this toggle enabled, NPCs are able to write various degrading things onto the player during any encounters. What they write is influenced by the different lewd fame stats, combat fame, and the player's beauty. NPCs will also notice body-writing during these encounters, which can influence their behaviour. Different fame stats can also be increased by NPCs reading fame-related bodywriting. This comes with its own benefits, but various negatives as well. Be cautious.

Named NPCs are also able to notice the player's body-writing and react to it, such as Robin and Kylar. Whitney and their friends write unique things on the player if given the opportunity. Certain unlockable locations such as the Underground Farm (as well as Remy) will brand the player with bodywriting should they become imprisoned there.

Generally, NPCs only write on the player during nonconsensual encounters. Whitney, Kylar, and Sydney, however, will write on the player during consensual and nonconsensual encounters alike.

The player can examine their current body-writing within the Characteristics tab and/or when examining their skin in the mirror at a safehouse which has one.

Lewd Advertising

Players that want to act more promiscuous have the option of writing on themselves, for hopes of coaxing out cash from unsuspecting NPCs. This is otherwise known as "lewd advertisements", and can be done when examining the bedroom mirror within the Orphanage.

Bodywriting List

There are several kinds and variations of bodywriting, up to a total of 180 different pieces of bodywriting. Most will be marked as text, with others marked as "objects".

Some bodywriting can come with an arrow pointing to a specific body part. If admired by NPCs during encounters, NPCs will try to follow the arrow and follow it's instructions - such as positioning their genitals towards the body part it is pointing at.

Additionally, bodywriting may be classified as either masculine or feminine. NPCs will only perform masculine bodywriting on players who appear male and vice versa.

• Masculine bodywriting increases masculinity if visible, making the player appear more like a boy.
• Feminine bodywriting increases femininity if visible, making the player appear more like a girl.

Table Format:

• Index: The number it is listed in. Goes up to 180, excluding index 0. (181 if including index 0)
• Writing: What would be written onto the player in-game.
• Type: Determines the type of bodywriting. Text, or object.
  • Text: NPCs will read, and comment on it. If it is an instruction, they will react accordingly.
  • Object: Essentially drawings. Functions as a tattoo otherwise would.
• Arrow: Determines if the bodywriting has an arrow pointing somewhere. See Extra Notes below.
• Special: The functionality of the bodywriting, and the effects it has.
  • Features categories, see the appropriate section below for more information.
• Gender: Judges whether the bodywriting is masculine, feminine, or gender neutral.
• Lewd: Determines if the bodywriting is marked as "lewd" or not.
• Degree: Used only for prostitution-related bodywriting. Determines the amount of money NPCs will give after reading.
• (Extra 1/2) Written By: Who writes the bodywriting. The player, or other NPCs. Also includes possible Named NPCs.
  • All: All participants can write this onto the player, including the player themselves at a mirror.
  • NPCs only: Limited to NPCs being able to write on the player, the player cannot write this on themselves.
  • PC only: Limited to only the player being able to write this on their own body, at a mirror.
  • Parlour: Limited to the tattoo parlour, cannot be obtained elsewhere.
  • Whitney/Remy: Limited to those named NPCs, cannot be obtained elsewhere.
  • Underground Brothel/Farm: Limited to those locations, cannot be obtained elsewhere.
• (Extra 2/2) Notes: Additional notes about the indexed bodywriting.

Categories:

• General: This encompasses the bodywriting that is not locked behind specific actions, fame or NPCs. These can be both lewd and safe. They can be admired during encounters by NPCs, however, this has no effect and will simply provide flavour text/dialogue from them.
• Violence: This bodywriting triggers angry responses from NPCs - increasing NPC anger by twenty points during combat, making them more likely to physically abuse the player and ignore their wishes. It does not increase the masochism stat directly.
• Criminal: This bodywriting is triggered by the player having a high amount of Crime. If examined during encounters, it decreases NPC trust by 35 points, making them less likely to go along with the player's requests/actions, as well as more likely to catch the player attempting to steal from them.
• Fame: The following categories of bodywriting can only be performed by NPCs if the player's corresponding fame stat has reached at least the Known level (except for Combat fame, which allows bodywriting at any level). How probable it is that NPCs will do so is dictated by how high the specific fame stat is.
  • Sex Fame: If examined during encounters, this bodywriting increases Sex fame.
  • Prostitution Fame: If examined during encounters, this bodywriting increases Prostitution Fame. Prostitution-related bodywriting has a complicated effect, see extra notes below.
  • Rape Fame: If examined during encounters, this bodywriting increases Rape fame and decreases all NPCs' trust (by 20 points).
  • Bestiality Fame: If examined during encounters, this bodywriting increases Bestiality fame.
  • Exhibitionism Fame: If examined during encounters, this bodywriting increases Exhibitionism fame.
  • Combat Fame: If examined during encounters, this bodywriting increases Combat fame and decreases all NPCs' trust (by 5 points).
• Unlockables: Can either only be acquired under special circumstances or has some special effect. Usually triggers from said unlockables, or named NPCs.
  • Slave: Exclusive to the Underground Brothel location, marking the player as the ring-owners' property.
  • Whitney: Exclusive to Whitney and their friends during events, marking the player as Whitney's property.
  • Cattle: Exclusive to the Underground Farm, and by extension Remy, marking the player as Remy's property.

Extra Notes:

• Prostitution-related bodywriting has a complicated effect. The NPC may either pay the player a sum of money or ignore it.
  • For generic prostitution-related bodywriting, this is more likely if the NPC is highly aroused, their trust is high and their anger is low. It also depends highly on the player's attractiveness and seduction skill - the higher they are, the more likely an NPC is to pay the player. If the sum of all of this is very high, the NPC pays the player £10, their anger is increased by ten points, trust decreased by one hundred points and the player's prostitution fame is increased. If this sum is lower but still high enough (can be practically guaranteed with full seduction and attractiveness), nothing will change, except for the payment, which will only be £5. However, if the sum is too low, the player will not receive anything except for prostitution fame and the NPC's trust will decrease by twenty points.
  • For bodywriting demanding a specific sum of money, the difficulty is directly determined by the size of the sum. Demanding £10 will be as difficult as getting £10 in the above example and demanding £5 follows the same pattern. This means that demanding £25 has a five times lower chance of success than demanding £5 and demanding £100 has a twenty times lower chance of success than demanding £5 and ten times lower than demanding £10. Note that not succeeding has the same consequences, however, succeeding decreases enemy trust by ten times the ammount demanded in pounds, in addition to the ten point anger increase and Prostitution fame increase.
  • Successfully making money this way awards the player the feat "Billboard".
• Bodywriting with arrows will direct NPCs to use the part in question.
  • If drawn on the player's cheeks, the arrow will point to their mouth. If admired during combat, the NPC will position their genitals in front of the player's mouth, or attempt to sit on the player's face (the latter will only occur if NPCs with vaginas are enabled).
  • If drawn on the player's thighs or their pubic area, the arrow will point to their genitals. If admired during combat, the NPC will move their genitals to the player's.
  • If drawn on the player's bottom or their back, the arrow will point to their anus. If admired during combat, the NPC will move their penis to the player's butt. Has no effect if the Anal toggle is disabled, or if the player's settings do not allow for NPCs with penises.

Removing Bodywriting

NPCs will write using a few different objects, including a regular pen, permanent marker, lipstick (if the NPC is female), or mud (If the player is in either the forest, moor, or farmlands). Depending on what they use, it may be more difficult to remove.

• Things written with pens, lipstick, and mud will generally tend to stay on, until the player washes it off themselves. This can be done in any bath or shower in town, as well as some other locations that let you wash yourself, such as the river at the wolf cave or underground farm. Also, the player is able to wash off any bodywriting on their face using the sinks in the bathrooms in the school or at the park.
• Things written with permanent marker cannot be washed off in the same vein as the other objects, but will eventually fade on its own after an indeterminate length of time. There is a 50% chance for every permanent marker writing to fade away at midnight, meaning it is not actually permanent.

Preventing Bodywriting

The player has the option to prevent NPCs writing on them entirely - Pens held in NPCs' hands are attackable, and doing this successfully will have the NPC unable to write on the player's body for the duration of combat. Alternatively, the player may wish to disable the bodywriting toggle entirely - this is done in the "settings" menu, accessible from any safehouse (like the player's bedroom or the Wolf Cave).
